Club Challenges

The DBC hosts two month-long challenges and a year-long fitness challenge for club members.

Hides of March
Hides of March: trying to keep up with the laundry

The most well known club challenge is March Bicycle Madness.  During the month of March, members pledge to ride as many miles as they can.  Based on the number of miles ridden by participating cyclists, the DBC allocates funds that are used to purchase bike helmets which the DBC then distributes to school-aged children throughout Yolo, Solano, and Napa Counties.

Our newest month-long challenge is April Alpinsanity.  2012 will be the inaugural year.  DBCers will climb as much as they can during April.  The club will donate funds to two local non-profit organizations based on the cumulative elevation gains of participating riders.  More details are coming soon (5 Jan 12).

Get off the couch and go ride your bike

We also offer a couple of annual fitness challenges:

The Century-a-Month Challenge is just what it sounds like.  Members who ride at least one century (100 miles) every month receive recognition at the end of the year. The ride can be an organized club ride or solo effort.

The 100k-a-Month Challenge is self-explanatory as well.  DBCers who ride at least one metric century (62 miles) every month will receive appropriate adoration at the end of the year.
