Davis 12/24 Challenge

The Davis Bike Club annual UMCA 12/24 hour challenge.

The ultimate time trial: how far can you ride?

The Davis 12/24 Challenge will be held April 3 – 4, 2010. This is a RAAM qualifying event and is sanctioned by the UltraMarathon Cycling Association. Learn more about the ride:

  • Rider check-in
    5pm - 7pm, Friday April 2, 2010, Winters Community Center
  • Start
    6:30am Saturday, April 3, Winters Community Center
  • Course
    Day loop is 162.5 miles of the Davis Double Century course (8,000 ft.of climbing). Night loop is flat 18.4 miles.
  • Support
    Lee Mitchell, course director, is providing aid stations every 30 - 40 miles with Gatorade, food and water. Marshals will deliver rider drop bags to selected aid stations.  Once the day loop is finish, support is provided at the Winters Community Center approximately Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to Sunday at 7:00 a.m.
  • Divisions
    Following are the race divisions.  If you would like to create a new division, contact the race director.

    Male and female divisions:
    • solo
    • tandem
    • faired recumbent
    • unfaired recumbent
    • two-person relay
    • four-person relay
      Note: two and four person relays can be for tandems, faired recumbent, unfaired recumbents and fixed gear)
    • single gear
    • fixed gear

Age Group
  • Solos
    • Under 18
    • 18-49
    • 50-59
    • 60–69
    • 70 and over
  • Tandems/2-person team age groups
    • Under 90
    • 90 and over or = 90/90;
  • Four person team age groups
    • Under 180
    • 180 and > or = 180/180

  • Awards
    Medals to top three in each age group and division.
