Please welcome Andrew Ritchie back to the US Bicycling Hall of Fame at 7PM on Friday, Sept 23. Andrew will be in town to present and sign his new book, "Quest for Speed".

While the title might lead you to the conclusion that the presentation will be all about bicycle racing, such is not the case.  Bicycles in the late 1800's represented the height of technology and the improvements of cycling set the stage for the coming automobile revolution. The quest for speed produced dramatic improvements in the bicycle, from high wheelers to light weight fixed gear bikes that are very similar in appearance to bicycles of today.  You may remember Andrew from his standing room only presentation in February about Major Taylor;  we anticipate a great turnout this time as well.  Light refreshments will be available, please join us.  US Bicycling Hall of Fame members and DBC members are admitted free; seniors and students are $3, general admission is $5. 303 3rd St. Davis.
