Approved helmets are required! Your safety and our insurance depend on it. The California Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies have been involved in planning this event and are concerned about your safety. They will enforce traffic laws for all traffic. Please obey the rules of the road. Ride to the right, STOP AT SIGNALS and STOP SIGNS and use proper lighting after sunset. Rest Stop closing times are NOT negotiable. If a cyclist has not reached a rest stop by the stated closing time, the cyclist will be sagged to the next rest stop to continue riding. If at any time a rider is judged by our rest stop or sag wagon staff to be physically or mentally unfit to continue, that rider will either rest until considered fit or be sagged in. Please help our staff do their jobs by following their advice about sagging. No motor pacing, or holding onto cars. It is both dangerous and against the law. After sunset, riders will be required to leave rest stops in groups of at least five. LIGHTS AND REFLECTORS ARE REQUIRED AFTER SUNSET. Each rider must supply his or her own lights. All riders must carry some form of identification, including an emergency contact phone number. Leave the sag driving to us. PRIVATE SAGS ARE PROHIBITED. They add to traffic congestion and are a potential danger to cyclists. A cyclist identified with a private sag will forfeit all DC support or benefits and be barred from registration the following year. The release included in this registration form must be signed by each rider or the parent or guardian of riders under age 18. The Davis Double Century is not a race, so ride within your abilities, ride safely and you'll finish easily without SAG assistance. Wearing your approved helmet will keep you safe and the DC organizers happy! |
