This brisk-paced ride of 50 miles zigzags north and west towards the tiny hamlet of Capay. We travel Road 29, 95, 24, and 85B until we hit Highway 16 and ride into Capay. The scenery enroute is varied and consistently beautiful at any time of year. Prevailing winds, if any, are usually from the NW, which gives us a nice push home on the return leg.
In Capay, we stop for refreshments at the Road Trip Bar & Grill. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, the facilities are modern, and we park our bikes in the rear where we can watch them at all times. The route for the return leg varies, depending on the whim of the collected riders. We regroup as necessary to keep the ride together.
