PREAMBLE
Ride leader hopes that all riders will feel welcome:
- If you're just finding your climbing legs, consider working up to the full distance over several sessions.
- If you're just finding your climbing legs, consider coming with a friend who rides/climbs a similar pace as you.
- If you're a stronger climber, please consider circling back and supporting less-strong climbers. It's win-win.
Rider leader understands that everyone climbs/descends at their own pace:
- This is not a race ride. But don't be afraid to push yourself at times. That's how we get stronger.
- We might get spread out a bit. But we have a quick regroup at the top of Cardiac on the outbound; we have a longer regroup at the turn-around at Moskowite.
- The goal is to support your climbing efforts, not to have you return home feeling frustrated.
LOGISTICS
Ride launches promptly at 9:30 from the Gazebo parking lot in downtown Winters.
Plan a 'reasonable' warm-up pace to the bottom of the dam climb.
Regroup and refuel at Moskowite. IMPORTANT: The Crossroads convenience store/restaurant/'bathroom opportunity' has closed. We're all hoping that some adventurous entrepreneur will eventually reopen it, but for now plan for NO AMENITIES at Moskowite.
Return to Winters, and plan to hang out for post-ride lunch if you can.
WHAT ELSE?
Greater than 30% chance of rain cancels. Check the Winters weather here.
Lights and reflective gear REQUIRED for foggy conditions.
Ride leader will post to the DBC Listerv any changes or cancellations on Monday evening.
